Breeding horses has been in our family as long as I remember.
We came from Switzerland, my grandfather in Switzerland bred Freiberger’s.
In Switzerland I started training when I was 20 years old. I soon got good and decided to compete. The rule system in Europe is much different in Canada and I soon began winning my classes and had to progress to more challenging jumping classes. Throughout winter I would train a horse and have them ready for the show season. After a back injury in 1983 that ended my competition career I decided to breed one of my Holsteiner mares.
In 1987 there was a spring Holsteiner auction in Germany. This is where I bought my first Holsteiner mare.
We moved to Canada in October 1989 with four dogs and four Holsteiner broodmares.
